If you’ve been dealing with schoolchildren during the pandemic, you’ll appreciate this. All I can say is, thank God for my wife.
If I’ve learned one thing during the quarantine, it’s how much I love my family. The other thing I’ve learned is how much I love it whey they’re not at home.

Teaching from home, with my kids home in school, and me going to school, has been an absolute fucking nightmare. I’m a pretty cool cucumber that has never had anxiety issues, and have been having what I think are day long anxiety attacks. Only time I’ve experienced this feeling is right before I knew I was about to be told someone was dead. It’s the fucking worst, and I feel for anyone that has to experience tis on the regular. Hats off to you for pushing through.
Just turned in a final project for one class, kicked the shit out of another, and am working on finishing my last final today. Feeling a bit better now.

My wife is working a full 40+ hours from home, just finished setting up the marching band silent auction, and is still helping my boys with their schoolwork (I can’t into math). She’s an absolute saint. I’ve been doing some online trumpet teaching, and puttering around the house. I have read how some US school districts threw in the towel early. I know there are many, many parents who don’t have the skills to teach their kids, or the time to learn math from Khan Academy. I hope, as this video shows, we come out of this with a new appreciation for what teachers really do.
